The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has brought the automotive industry to a halt. However, car companies are still willing to help extend a helping hand in these trying times. One of these companies is Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) the Japanese brand’s business unit in the country. With the enhanced community quarantine extended to May 15, 2020, the transportation of medical professionals has become more important than ever. The Japanese brand to help with the situation has lent out a fleet of 15 vehicles consisting of different models in its lineup.

The fleet of vehicles lent out by Honda Philippines consists of the following models, City, Brio, Jazz, Mobilio, BR-V, HR-V, and CR-V. These vehicles will be lent out to doctors and nurses of various hospitals including the New Sinai MDI Hospital in Tagapo, Santa Rosa, Laguna; The Medical City South Luzon in Santa Rosa, Laguna; Unihealth-Southwoods Hospital and Medical Center in Biñan, Laguna; Westlake Medical Center in San Pedro, Laguna; and, the Carmona Hospital and Medical Center in Cavite. The Japanese brand will also be providing fuel for these vehicles for up to a month.
Honda Philippines has also recently come under new leadership in the form of Mr. Masahiko Nakamura as its new president. With the brand in the country under a new head, helping out the community is a great first move for Mr. Nakamura. As the end of the pandemic is still not yet in sight it is more important now than ever to stay indoors to help stop the spread of the virus. With dealerships still temporarily closed due to the limited movement of the public during the quarantine, it's still nice to see that companies are still prioritizing health and safety over making a profit. With new cases still on the rise, it's now more important than ever that our medical professionals get to where they need to be as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
